Flower Foundation Review

1/5/2015

Hey Everyone!

If you watched my First Impressions video on the Flower foundation then you know I promised to do a full review on it after I had worn it for a while. My final verdict is that this foundation is amazing! I absolutely love it! It has become my new go to foundation for everyday wear. I feel the exact same way as I did in my first impressions except I use a primer with it so it doesn't crease. It has a great consistency, is a light-medium coverage that is buildable, it has a dewy finish, doesn't dry out my skin, doesn't break me out, beautiful packaging, great price ($13.98 at walmart.com) and finally lasts quite a while (even without the primer). There is only one bad thing (mentioned above) I found with this foundation and it is that it will crease big time without a primer. I ended up with lines around my smile, in my forehead and around my nostrils (not a great look). So I'm not sure how it would work on more mature skin but I would definitely try a primer and see how it goes. I will definitely be repurchasing this foundation again and it has quickly become one of my favourites. I will post my First Impressions video down below for you guys and I will see you in my next video/post!

Thanks for watching/reading!

bhcosmetics 1st Edition 120 Colour Eyeshadow Palette

Hey Everyone!

One of the newest additions to my makeup collection is my bhcosmetics 1st Edition 120 Colour Palette. I had never used anything from bhcosmetics before and I have to say I'm addicted! The packaging is so simple and I love that there is a sheet of plastic over the eyeshadows so they don't get everywhere. I also love the clasp because I know it is shut tight and won't open back up and make a mess (picture featured in gallery). The colours are quite pigmented but I would suggest using a primer to ensure that they will last all day because I find they will fade after a few hours. They are easily buildable to be brighter if need be. I don't find that there is a lot of mess when applying these, usually I end up with eyeshadow under my eyes but with these I don't. This was a great purchase and quite cheap because I only paid $11.95 at bhcosmetics.com! It also only took a week to get to my house which was really nice because I hate waiting forever for a package. This is really great for holidays because there are many different colours in this palette as well as some neutrals which is great for everyday looks. There is also quite a mix of shimmer eyeshadows and mattes which is great because sometimes you want something different. The only issue I have with this palette is that the white colours are pretty much non-existent, even after trying to build them up.  (The gold shadow is really pretty though to dust overtop of a matte shadow.) I would defiantly repurchase this again and I am looking forward to making some more purchases from bhcosmetics!

Stila Covertible Colour

Hey Everyone!

Another product I included in my October Favourites was Stila's Covertible Colour in the shade Peony, which is a dual lip and cheek cream. I absolutely love this! I wear this on my cheeks pretty much daily as it is the prettiest nude and dusty rose colour. It gives my cheeks the most perfect colour, almost like I am blushing or was just outside on a chilly day.  When used on my lips, it is like my lip colour but a better version. I think the packaging is so cute and the mirror inside is just awesome as it doesn't distort you in any way.  I apply this product by swirling my ring and middle finger in the cream and then stipple it into the apple of my cheeks and slowly bring it back towards my temples. I have never ever used too much product with it and I'm not sure that you could, as it just blends in so smooth and beautifully. It gives you this dewy glow and lasts for quite a few hours without reapplication. I don't tend to use it on my lips as much as I tend to press my lips together a lot and it does seem to dry them out a little bit. I would definitely repurchase this and can't wait to try out some other shades.

Hey Everyone!

I promised to do a more thorough review of the products mentioned in my October Favourites Video so here we go.

When I went to Sephora for the second time I spoke with one of the women working there who asked if I needed a hand with anything. I was hesitant because the first time I went there I ended up buying the foundation that was suggested to me, but it turned out not to be a great fit as it dried out my skin way more then anything I had used in the past. This was a different lady though so I told her I was looking for a foundation that was a light - medium coverage that would work well with my skin type (dry). She got me to sit down on one of the stools and proceeded to use the Pantone Colour IQ on my skin. I asked her if it would work since the last lady had informed me that because I had freckles it would bring back a much darker shade then I actually needed. She told me no and that's why they take  pictures on different parts of your face, this way they can ensure it will match.  Sure enough it came back with the right shade and she suggested the Nars Sheer Glow which will give me the coverage to even out my skin tone but not hide my freckles.  She asked me what I use to apply it and I told her I prefer using a beauty blender and she proceeded to put the foundation all over my face after showing me that it matched to my neck. I absolutely loved it right away and headed to the check out.

The next day I went ahead and applied it to my face using my beauty blender and went off to work. It gives me the exact coverage I want and I can actually build this up very easily to a medium coverage without it going cakey. I have worn it pretty much every day since I purchased it and it has never oxidized on me and it always lasts for most of my work day without having to retouch it.  It gives a great dewy finish, which is something I love because I want to have that youthful glow look to my skin. I have also used it with my Sigma Kabuki brush and it always glides onto my skin smoothly and blends well without any problems.

Now there are a couple of small downfalls to this product. Firstly, I believe for the price that the pump should be included in the purchase. I thought that was quite annoying that it didn't come with a pump because it isn't a cheap foundation and you can't buy the pump at Sephora. So, in order to get it you have to buy it from somewhere else. You can purchase the pumps from narscosmetics.com for $6.00 or from shop.nordstrom.com for $7.15. One final thing I noticed is that sometimes this foundation breaks me out. I have found a few times that I've worn this I get pimples either on my chin or on my forehead, so if you have sensitive skin this may not work for you.

I purchased Nars Sheer Glow at the Sephora store in Barrie for $57.00 and I am in the shade Mont Blanc.

I hope you guys found this review helpful and if you have any questions or comments feel free to leave something below! If you haven't seen my October Favourites video go ahead and click this link!   http://youtu.be/YqYmDVBkiBU
